Is QuickKit Tools free to use?
Yes. Every tool on the site is free, and you don't need to create an account. In the future we may show a small number of ads to cover running costs. They will always be clearly separate from the tools.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The image and PDF tools work inside your web browser using your own device, so your files are not sent to us. When you close or refresh the page, they're gone.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The tools work in up-to-date versions of common browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers, tablets and phones.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes. Because files are processed on your device, very large files can be slow or run out of memory, especially on phones. Each tool shows its limit on its own page.
Will compressing an image always make it smaller?
Not always. Images that are already heavily compressed may barely shrink, and occasionally the result can even be larger. The compressor always shows the real before and after sizes so you can decide which to keep.
