Which format should I choose?
| Format | Best for | Transparency |
|---|---|---|

| WebP | Websites. Usually smaller than JPG and PNG at similar quality. | Yes |
Good to know
- Converting a JPG to PNG won't bring back detail that JPG compression already removed. The PNG will look the same, but the file is often larger.
- Converting to JPG removes transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose.
- Some older apps and websites don't accept WebP. If an upload is rejected, convert to JPG or PNG instead.
- Creating WebP files needs a browser that supports it. If yours doesn't, you'll see a message instead of a broken file.
- Files up to 25 MB and 50 megapixels. The converted copy doesn't keep metadata such as camera details or GPS location, and animated WebP images become a still image.
