QR Code Generator
Create a QR code for a website link or any short text. Customize the size and colors, then download it as a PNG image for print or screen.
QR codes are created on your device. Nothing you type is sent to us.
https:// is added automatically if you leave it out.
For printing, 512 px or larger is a good choice.
The empty border helps phones find the code. 4 is the standard.
Enter a website address to create your QR code.
Always scan the code with your phone before printing or sharing it.
How to use the QR Code Generator
- Choose Website link or Text.
- Type or paste your web address or text. The QR code updates as you type.
- Adjust the size, colors and error correction if you need to.
- Scan the preview with your phone to test it, then download the PNG.
Tips for QR codes that scan reliably
- Keep strong contrast. A dark code on a light background works best. Pale colors or a light-on-dark code can fail on some phones.
- Leave the border. The empty space around the code (the quiet zone) helps cameras find it.
- Print it big enough. As a rough guide, make the code at least 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) wide, and larger if people will scan it from a distance.
- Keep the content short. Shorter links and text create simpler codes that are easier to scan.
- Test before you print. Scan the code with more than one phone if you can.
Does this QR code expire?
No. These are static QR codes: your link or text is stored inside the image itself, not on our servers. The code will keep working for as long as the link it points to works. The trade-off is that you can't change the destination later. To use a different link, create a new code.
What is error correction?
QR codes contain spare information so they can still be read if part of the code is dirty, scratched or covered. Higher levels can recover more damage but make the code denser. Medium is a good default. Choose High if the code might get worn or you plan to place a small logo over it.
