How accurate are the conversions?
The tool uses the exact international definitions: 1 inch is exactly 2.54 cm, 1 pound is exactly 0.45359237 kg, and 1 US gallon is exactly 3.785411784 liters. Results are rounded to at most six decimal places for display.
US and UK (imperial) volumes are different
A US gallon (about 3.785 L) is smaller than a UK gallon (about 4.546 L), and the same applies to pints and fluid ounces. Recipes and fuel figures from the United States use US units, while older UK recipes often use imperial units. The tool labels them separately so you can pick the right one. The “cup” here is the US customary cup (about 236.6 mL). Some countries use a 250 mL metric cup instead.
